From one of Australia's oldest and most respected producers, the Normans Old Vine McLaren Vale Shiraz 2018 showcases the character, concentration, and elegance expected of a true old vine release. Crafted from selected vineyard blocks with diverse microclimates and soil types, the fruit was fermented in small stainless steel fermenters to retain purity and depth, then matured in a mix of mostly old oak with a small percentage of new barrels for 12 months to gradually impart complexity.

The wine is vivid purple with a ruby red hue, opening with lifted aromas of blackberry, layered with mulberry, plum, and undercurrents of oak and black pepper. The medium-bodied palate is structured yet refined, bursting with dark red and black berry fruit, supported by subtle mulberry and cherry notes on the mid-palate. Soft tannins, gentle oak spice, and a balanced, long finish complete the experience.

The 2018 vintage, marked by lower yields and exceptional fruit quality, was considered ideal for a museum release—this wine has been bottle-aged to enhance structure and complexity, offering immediate appeal as well as cellaring potential.
